Time Travel—Decorative Art from Kirkland Museum
The Kirkland Museum is one of my favorite museums. They have a extensive collection of mid-century modern decor and art deco, this would be a fabulous way to see some of their collection. http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif Time Travel-Decorative Art from Kirkland Museum

Retro Metro OKC history preservation
This is a fun local website I stumbled across that highlights history and vintage buildings and old restaurants in the Oklahoma City area. http://www.retrometrookc.org
The mission from their website states:
"Retro Metro OKC is dedicated to educating the community and its visitors about local history by collecting, preserving, displaying and interpreting materials reflecting the heritage of Oklahoma City."
Very Cool, check it out, they have some neat old photographs posted online.

Vintage glass earrings by Kramer
Look at these beautiful Vintage glass earrings by Kramer of New York that I scored from brenhann on ETSY. They remind me of Nicole Kidman's Fred Leighton's 150-carat 19th Century diamond Riviere necklace she wore at this years Grammys.

Iconic Pan Am may fly again in TV drama
Now this story from CNN is a dream combo for me as a vintage loving former flight attendant!
Iconic Pan Am may fly again in TV drama
Iconic airline is the focus of a TV drama that may debut this fall on ABC.
"Pan Am" will be set in the 1960s, drawing comparisons to "Mad Men" Show's executive producer worked as a Pan Am flight attendant for eight years.

George Nelson
To get ready for the George Nelson exhibit opening at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art this weekend I am going to upload a couple of photos of some George Nelson iconic pieces that I had the privilege of seeing in person at the Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art in Denver back in 2008.
“MARSHMALLOW SOFA” 1956 designed by
GEORGE NELSON & IRVING HARPER (btw, who also created the "M" logo for Herman Miller)
mfr.: Herman Miller Furniture Co.,
[this sofa is from the original production with original
orange naugahyde (vinyl-coated fabric);
less than 200 made]
Asterisk Clock, 1950; Ball Clock, 1948; Steering Wheel Clock,
mfr.: Herman Miller Furniture Co.,
These next two photos aren't necessarly George Nelson or Herman Miller but just some cool photos from the Kirkland that I thought I would share for my fellow Mid-Century Modern lovers
