George Nelson

To get ready for the George Nelson exhibit opening at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art this weekend I am going to upload a couple of photos of some George Nelson iconic pieces that I had the privilege of seeing in person at the Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art in Denver back in 2008.

“MARSHMALLOW SOFA” 1956 designed by
GEORGE NELSON & IRVING HARPER (btw, who also created the "M" logo for Herman Miller)

mfr.: Herman Miller Furniture Co.,

[this sofa is from the original production with original
orange naugahyde (vinyl-coated fabric);
less than 200 made]

Asterisk Clock, 1950; Ball Clock, 1948; Steering Wheel Clock,
mfr.: Herman Miller Furniture Co.,

These next two photos aren't necessarly George Nelson or Herman Miller but just some cool photos from the Kirkland that I thought I would share for my fellow Mid-Century Modern lovers
